2014 Fiscal Year Results

In May of 2013, having surpassed $500M of lifetime contributions in 2012, WaterStone’s board set off on a bold objective to catalyze $1 Billion of new generosity. Our goal is to advance the Kingdom through the power of transformational giving by serving givers at the intersection of faith and finance. We asked a few friends of WaterStone to join us in this $1 Billion initiative to sow into the generosity of others and we were blessed as they joined us for a greater impact.

We are pleased and humbled to present our financial results for Fiscal Year 2014 ending March 31, 2014:

WaterStone’s 2014 core contributions of $57 million represented an increase of 22% over the prior year. Our core contribution total does not include key estate gifts totaling $23 million, which put our 2014 total at $80 million, or a year-over-year increase of 76%. To put that astounding achievement into perspective, the average increase in contributions for faith-based non-profits last year was just 3.5%, according to the 2013 Blackbaud Annual Index of Charitable Giving. We therefore grew at 22 times the industry average, beating our FY 2013 performance.

Over the last two years givers have entrusted WaterStone with $125 million, a 20% compounded annual growth rate. This combined generosity and growth rate puts us right on track to realize our vision of catalyzing $1 Billion for the Kingdom by 2022.

WaterStone is committed to sowing deeply into select communities. David Bell, our Vice President of Generosity, mans our office in Dallas and has extended our reach to West Texas. Jeff Gott, our Senior Vice President of Generosity has established our Denver office. Through our new Austin office, we will also represent WaterStone to the central Texas and Houston areas, where we have a growing community of like-minded givers.

We serve givers at the intersection of faith and finance with trusted, independent counsel and technical expertise, by coming alongside stewards of family wealth and helping them nurture their heart for giving, multiply their giving impact, minimize taxes, and heighten their joy of generosity. As a ministry dedicated to helping the faithful build the Kingdom, WaterStone trusts in the Lord’s provision. We know that He connects us to givers, advisors, and charities as complementary parts of the one body of Christ. We are blessed to continuously add new members to the WaterStone giving community.

Each day we strive to walk in faith and accomplish those works which God has prepared beforehand for us. WaterStone’s success, reflected in our FY 2014 results, springs from the Lord and we offer them to Him as a testament of our trust in His living presence. Thank you for journeying with us as together we honor God through the transformational power of giving.
