Dallas Baptist University, located in the rolling hills of southwestern Dallas, exists to provide Christ-centered quality higher education in the arts, sciences, and professional studies at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, to traditional age and adult students. The University’s goal is to produce servant leaders who have the ability to integrate faith and learning through their respective callings.
Dallas Baptist University was originally founded as Decatur Baptist College in 1898 and was the first two-year institution of higher education in Texas. After moving to Dallas in 1965, Dallas Baptist University has maintained its roots and its commitment to a Baptist heritage.
Today, Dallas Baptist University enrolls 5,156 Students in the following programs:
- 72 undergraduate programs
- 55 accelerated bachelor’s and master’s degree programs
- 29 master’s programs
- 62 dual master’s degree programs
- 2 doctoral programs
In addition to the wide array of academic programs available, Dallas Baptist University offers a robust selection of athletic activities including baseball, cross country, soccer, golf, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and track and field.
Spiritual Life ministries and programs offer students opportunities to be transformed through mentoring from faculty and staff and through ministering to others. Revivals, nights of worship, and outreach events offer the platform through which students serve the University’s community and stretch beyond the campus borders to bless the surrounding areas.
