“I didn’t know you could use corn and turn it into a gift to a charity.”
“Why didn’t my advisor tell me not to sell that asset prior to gifting part of it?!”
“I never knew that the income from my rental property could provide a recurring gift to my favorite faith-based charity!”
These are some of the questions and comments that provide the impetus for WaterStone to conduct Intentional Giving Workshops like the four we’ve organized this past spring in Austin, San Antonio, and the Dallas/Plano areas of Texas.
WaterStone’s Intentional Giving Workshops are designed for givers, advisors, and nonprofit leaders to learn how to multiply their giving impact for the Kingdom, minimize taxes, and heighten the joy of generosity. WaterStone provides trusted counsel on innovative giving strategies including gifting from complex assets (securities, real estate, business interests, agricultural and oil & gas commodities, etc.) as well as gifts of cash and marketable securities. These strategies include intentional giving during life as well as planned charitable giving through the estate planning process.
The Reason Why
Hosted and facilitated by Terry Cargill, WaterStone’s Vice President of Generosity – Texas and Will Stevens, Vice President of Giving Strategies, the Texas events brought scores of advisors and nonprofit leaders together for networking, education, and to enjoy a time of fellowship. Participants leave these events energized and armed with new ideas as to how they can multiply the power of giving for their clients or for their nonprofit organizations. Most importantly, workshop participants connect with a potential partner, WaterStone, to assist in their work.
If you’re a professional advisor, nonprofit leader, or a supporter of nonprofit causes, get connected to these great events geared to helping advance God’s Kingdom. Check out the Intentional Giving Workshops that are scheduled throughout the remainder of 2016. While there, also learn more about our annual WaterStone Giving Academy in Colorado Springs on August 17-19. The true joy of generosity is realized when one’s assets are turned into “living water” for the Kingdom!
